Ourtopia

How it works

  1. Show Up

Find a session in your city, or online. Bring yourself, curiosity optional.

  2. Draw Your City

No skill required. Pen on paper. What does your dream city feel like?

  3. Discover Theirs

Share your world. See what everyone else imagined. It’s always surprising.

Your dream city says something true about you.

After a walk around the Cathedral Quarters with Marta Dyczkowska, a visual artist based in Belfast, Ourtopia was born out of the question:

“Can we envision a shared utopia together and bridge our different ideals?”

To answer that question, we made Ourtopia as a collaborative and artistic experiment.

Goals

  • Using your dream city to examine the self. What are YOUR priorities and values? What matters to you and why?
  • Understanding the design of the city, society, and world we live in. What are the priorities and values of different communities? What matters to people and why?
  • Envisioning a shared utopia together. Can we build one? How do we bridge our different utopias?
